Buying Typewriters, US-style, 1957

Given what 44-year-old American typewriters fetch on eBay these days, it's fascinating to read their as-new prices in 1957. It's also interesting to look at what were considered the latest technical developments among manual portables in 1957:

It's odd that they say that noiseless and electric typewriters are recent developments. They hit the market (leaving aside the 1902 Blick Electric) in the '20s and became popular in the '30s.
