I'm also interested in the flip side of the issue: even if digital memory becomes as durable as vellum (and maybe especially so), our inner memory, our brain memory, may be weakened as we rely on our external digital aids. <br /><br />By the way, Xavier U's rare books collection includes a small medieval Bible written on fine vellum.
