Thank you so much Florian, Ray, Georg and Richard for you very kind words. Much appreciated. Ray, this is the typewriter I had earmarked for you. Having used it this morning ... hey, man, you know how it is? Just kidding, it's still got your name on it. But I was amazed how nice a typewriter it is, I simply hadn't appreciated it before. I think it may be the only Arrow I have.
Congratulations on the huge number in the odometer! A much deserved recognition to the fantastic job you always do in every single post. I've learned a lot about typewriters reading your blog, and I'm sure the other typospherians all over the world will agree.
The only problem with those fantastic posts is that the typewriter wish lists keep growing and growing... a sweet problem, indeed! (firing up MercadoLibre, looking for a Royal Arrow...)
My Royal Arrow's serial # is C-1751513. At first I thought it was made in 1947, but upon checking the tw-db a second time and having Ted Munk correct me on the manufacture date because of the body design -- I realized it was actually made in 1948.

That ad made me smile.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the milestone. And that is a handsome typewriter.
ReplyDeleteOh sorry I shouldn't have clicked yesterday ;)

My Royal Arrow is one of my favorites. Great action, sharp elite font. Maybe it's time to pull it out of the closet.
ReplyDeleteRichard, thank you for showing us your beautiful Royal Arrow!
ReplyDeleteI believe that this model was one of Royal's best. You can see my example on my blog post:
