Henry Roby's Story of the Invention of the Typewriter (II)

I waited until I got some sign of "approval" for this exercise before proceeding - and the Typosphere appears to have given it a tick. Better still, through Cameron, maybe even Christopher Latham Sholes's great-great-granddaughter will get to read it. (And, yes, I thought Richard might spot his S&G font - I figured I had to use something in that gap, as there was clearly a letter or word missing; why not the S&G font? Seemed appropriate!):
