RIP Pete Seeger, a True Hero

Pete Seeger at a typewriter, Newport Folk Festival, 1963.

Pete Seeger, born May 3, 1919, Patterson, New York; died January 27, 2014, New York City, at the age of 94.

Pete Seeger was one of the truly great heroes of my life. From the mid-1950s onwards, he shone a light on the path ahead of me. Vale Mr Seeger.

  1. Well said, Robert. Pete was a amazing man. I can't help but smile every time I hear him sing or picture him performing.

Our world is a much better place because of him.

  2. He'll be missed but will live on through his songs. He gave us some great musical memories.

  3. Name a human being, and Robert Messenger can find a picture of that person at a typewriter ...

Thanks for this, it's a fine tribute.

  4. I do try, Richard, and sometimes terribly, terribly hard. But only terribly hard when I think that person is worthy. As you might imagine, it can often be very frustrating when I can't get a result. It's the famous writers sans typewriters that REALLY bug me!
Thank you Richard, Bill and Erik for your comments.
