Student Life, with Typewriters


The top photograph was taken in 1909, the bottom one probably 40 years later. They are part of a collection which illustrated the changes which had occurred in more than a century of US student life. The photographs were unearthed from the archives of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 
  • Marie Dudley, Uintah (Utah) High School valedictorian in 1963, was awarded an Olympia typewriter from Dudley Poultry. Below, from Utah State University, 1960s:

    Very nice old typewriters. I nearly missed the typewriter in the second photo because I was trying to determine the make of the old radio.
