18-Month Typewriter-Related Exhibition for National Institution in Canberra

Another exciting typewriter-related event is coming up for Canberra in less than a fortnight. I’ll leave the official announcement to the national institution involved, but it is taking seven of my typewriters, plus I am servicing three it already owns. Had a fruitful meeting with the organising team last Friday and the plan is for an exhibition scheduled to last at least 18 months, talking us into mid-2021. Throughout that time there will be hands-on use of all the typewriters by visitors (the last time I had one of these exhibitions, it had 12,000 visitors in just two months).  I’ll be giving presentations on typewriters and letter writing during this one, too. Watch this space …

  1. Congratulations on the Exhibition.
Those are some fine looking typewriters.

  2. This is fine news. Wonderful turnout you got last time.

  3. That Silver-Reed is gorgeous! It reminds me vaguely of a late-model Hermes 3000!

  4. That’s a good selection of attention-getting machines. It’s very generous of you to loan them, but aren’t you a bit anxious about damage? I would be. I do love watching people enjoy trying some of mine, like an Oliver or Corona folder - but with me hovering!
