Underwood No 5: A Typewriter Fit For A King

This appeared in Typewriter Topics in 1907. Was the Underwood No 5 gold-plated? It looks to be. However, Popular Mechanics in 1914 reported on another gold-plated typewriter "recently made" for King Alfonzo of Spain, without stipulating the brand. Surely it wasn't the same machine?
Alfonso XIII (Alfonso León Fernando María Jaime Isidro Pascual Antonio de Borbón y Habsburg-Lorena) (1886-1941) was King of Spain from his birth in 1886 until 1931. Until his 16th birthday in 1902, his mother, Maria Christina of Austria, served as his regent.

I wonder what became of the king's Underwood.

That Paris Underwood agency is the epitome of cluttered advertising. How the Parisians' eyes would have popped if an exercise in minimalism, such as an Apple store, had been set beside it.
