Dogs and Typewriters

I've been told I need to redress the balance, after my Cats and Typewriters post. So here goes (dedicated to the late, great Waldo):
Starting, just as we did with Hemingway and cats - here is E.B.White in The New Yorker office.
Yes, it's Rin Tin Tin
And finally of course, the greatest dog typist of them all  ...

That's so much fun!

What is the typewriter that the German shepherd is using, with all the correspondence piled behind it? An Imperial or something?

Have you seen the real quick brown fox jumping over the real lazy dog?

"On a typewriter, no one knows you're a dog."

Is that Rin Tin Tin answering fan mail?
I was curious about the machine too.

The dog is called Petra, a mongrel which appeared on BBC TV's "Blue Peter" children's program in the mid-60s. Since it's British, Imperial would also be my guess. The original caption said Petra expected "a nice shapely poodle as a secretary". It's claim 60,000 children wrote asking for photos of him, six times the printed supply.

Oh yes they do, Alan: Typist, known thine self!

Hey, the typewriter in this photo looks familiar. I think I just picked one up!
